Isle of Skye fairies oppose fish farm

There were plans for a fish farm to be built at a sacred area off the coast of Isle of Skye. It was to be 780 metres long and 460 metres wide with 12 steel cages. Campaigns were made against this from local residents, who were very concerned that the fish farm will damage the beautiful area also rich in magic and folklore legends. One form of protest was the most strange of all. It was a letter sent to the Highland Council, by Friends of the Eileen Fhlodaigearraidh Faeries, in care of the Flodigarry Fairies. It said that the fish farm would be a danger to the Asrai, a type of water fairy, who's been living there for more than a thousand years. Every year the Asrai appear on the surface of the water, and bathe in moonlight. The chemicals as well as the steel cages of the fish farm would cause environmental damage and melt the Asrai. The letter also mentioned that fishermen will be lured to their deaths. Also mentioned was the impact on animals, including seals, if the plan were to go ahead. After several hours, the Highland Council rejected the plan of the fish farm.
