Anubis tomb for dogs

In Saqqara, Egypt, there are many ancient graves for animals. Most of all, the Anubis temple, located in Saqqara, the same location as the famous step pyramid of Djoser. Beneath the Anubis temple are the catacombs where millions of mummified dogs have been found.
Anubis is the Egyptian god of the dead, who resembles a jackal. Sometimes this god appears jackal-headed with a mans body. A jackal is a wild canine of canis genus family, a cousin of wolves and domestic dogs. Jackals look a bit like wolves and they howl, except that it's a smaller type of canis, an omnivore and doesn't usually hunt large prey.
Throughout the ancient world, the canis family have had gods or god figures that are associated with death or the underworld. Think of Garm, Cerberus, hell hounds, Anubis, Cŵn Annwn, Fenrir, Black Shuck, Cu Sidhe, Gwyllgi, Cadejo, Barghest, Warg, Amarok, Werewolf, Dog Man, and Xoloti.
This is a short post that I wanted to highlight in case you're thinking of going to Egypt for a holiday. You may want to check out the pyramids and look for any ancient sites of interest related to Anubis and the ancient Egyptian worship of dogs.

Wolfen (film)

"Wolfen" (1981) is a supernatural film directed by Michael Wadleigh, starring Albert Finney, Edward James Olmos and Diane Venora. It was based on the novel "The Wolfen" by Whitley Streiber.
The film is a murder investigation into the brutal deaths of three people, a tycoon, his wife and their bodyguard. A lot more deaths happen as the film progresses. What the film does is enter the disaster zone of the Bronx, which looked like eerie ruins and rubble.
There was a desecrated church, home to the secret pack, with the broken stained glass windows, featuring a wolf face. This isn't so much a werewolf film but a film about phantom wolf creatures called Wolfen who dwell in shadows. The film used a load of top notch equipment that was advanced for its time, while seeing through the point-of-view of the wolfen. It was the first film ever to use a thermographic type lense.
I rate this dark dismal movie a 7/10 because it sent chills down my spine. There was a lot of creepiness as well as gore. All that horror needs.
Favourite fact: Those were real wolves used in the film and so guns were nearby, loaded and ready, just in case.

DNA result of dead werewolf

The DNA result of the creature called "Werewolf" has come back...  quickly, I might add.
It's result is a Grey Wolf. So now people have stopped calling it a mysterious wolf, but a canine with some slight "variations". The wildlife experts were all baffled earlier because the appearance wasn't typical of a regular wolf. Because of science, now everyone is saying that is the end of the matter.
Well it isn't. Having grey wolf DNA doesn't prove anything except that the animal belongs to the canine family. A werewolf should contain wolf DNA. So should hell hounds and the mysterious dogmen creatures sighted in many national parks and countrysides, forests and fields. They would all have canis lupis DNA. It doesn't mean that the animal isn't unusual. They admit that this poor dead animal isn't a normal wolf. Having grey wolf DNA just means it's got canine DNA. So what?
This dead animal has wolf DNA. It confirms that the creature isn't a bear or a mutant raccoon as a lot of skeptics have put out online before. But it doesn't mean that the dead animal is a regular wolf either. People assume that an unknown and supernatural wolf/werewolf shouldn't have wolf DNA. We know now that the dead wolf is a weird and strange wolf.
