This is a post I was researching before becoming ill. Strange really, as the subject is about Likhoradka, an entity from Slavic mythology that gives people sickness! It's believed that Likhoradka is able to enter someone, like a form of demonic possession, and then causes the person to get very weak, ill and also perhaps bring about even death. She most of all brings misfortune and bad luck.
She's a creation of the dark sinister deity named Chernobog. This particular one, Chernobog, appears in Chronicle written by Helmold of Bosau. It says Chernobog is malignant and also represents winter. His daughter Likhoradka is one of many plague princesses and there are 12 of them in total. These are known as the 12 Likhoradka sisters. Some believe each of the female entities represent times including different days and different illnesses.
Likhoradka is understood to team up with demons and enters homes as they can. People in places like Serbia call this creature Milosnice, or Milosnitsy and other different traditions in various Slavic countries have many stories about her. People tend to use charms, religious symbols and practices to ward her evil away.
Was there a connection to me getting very ill soon after I considered looking into this entity? Before then I didn't know about this legendary figure. It's always best to be certain and respectful. Don't scoff at folklore and always be prepared.
